This file contains information about problems that may occur while you install release 5 of FrameMaker. For additional last-minute tips and information, open the online Release Notes -- available from the Online Manuals pop-up menu on the Help Main Menu -- after you have successfully installed FrameMaker.
Installing FrameMaker

If your computer uses software that automatically checks for viruses, please disable the software before you install FrameMaker.
If you are installing FrameMaker on a disk other than the startup disk, make sure file sharing is turned off before you start the installation. (The startup disk is the disk that has a System Folder.) To turn off file sharing, open the Sharing Setup control panel and click Stop in the File Sharing area. After installing FrameMaker, you can turn file sharing on again.
For FrameMaker to run, you must have at least one dictionary installed. If you want to install the minimum files necessary, be sure to turn on the Dictionaries option in the Customize dialog box as well as the FrameMaker 5 option.
If you experience problems with installation, make sure your computer will support FrameMaker. See the printed manual, Installing FrameMaker, for information on supported system configurations.
